ARBORIST QUALIFICATIONS

 

Arborist Level 1: Tree Climbing, Hand Saw Use & Aerial Rescue Techniques

Introductory level aimed at skills required to work within an arborist team undertaking basic tasks such as groundwork but also being able to climb trees and prune light branch material using a handsaw. In addition a range of aerial rescue techniques and casualty care must also be demonstrated to successfully achieve the award including relevant knowledge of health, safety & good practice.

Arborist Level 2: Tree Climbing and Aerial Chainsaw Techniques

A basic skills level where arborists are required to climb trees using safe & efficient rope access methods and demonstrate a minimum level of experience in the operation of a chainsaw to prune branches. Receiving, starting & using the chainsaw for a variety of cutting techniques including demonstration of adequate work positioning methods and relevant knowledge of health, safety & good practice.
