ECC 1: Chainsaw Maintenance & Cross-cutting Techniques

Introductory level aimed at skills required to maintain & sharpen a chainsaw; undertake operational & safety checks; safely cross-cut timber and demonstrate an understanding of relevant underpinning knowledge of health, safety and good practice. Score sheet

ECC 2: Basic Tree Felling Techniques

A basic skills level where operators with minimum experience are able to fell and process trees up to 380mm size; undertake operational & safety checks; safely cross-cut timber under guide bar size & remove branches; safely take down a hung-up tree without a winch and demonstrate an understanding of relevant underpinning knowledge of health, safety and good practice. Score sheet

ECC 3: Advanced Tree Felling Techniques

A more advanced skills level whereby experienced operators are able to fell and process trees over 380mm size; undertake operational & safety checks; safely cross-cut timber over guide bar size & remove branches; safely take down a hung-up tree with a winch and demonstrate an understanding of relevant underpinning knowledge of health, safety and good practice. Score sheet

ECC 4: Windblown & Damaged Tree Felling Techniques

A very advanced skills level whereby experienced operators are able to fell and process damaged trees & root plates under and over guidebar length; undertake operational & safety checks; safely cross-cut timber over guide bar size & remove branches; safely take down damaged trees with a winch; safely sever root plates restrained by a winch and demonstrate an understanding of relevant underpinning knowledge of health, safety and good practice. Score sheet
